Amy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance from Ball State University and Summa cum laude with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. Amy has worked in the mental health field as a crisis counselor on the National Suicide Hotline, is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and is Certified in Thanatology. Amy is also certified in working with children, adolescents, and adults in suicide grief. Amy is an active member of the American Counseling Association, Florida Mental Health Counselors Association, Association for Death Education and Counseling, and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Amy’s approach to therapy tends to be integrative to meet the individual needs of the client but tends to utilize concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems.
She works with adults in the areas of mood disorders, adjustment disorders, trauma disorders, anxiety disorders, parenting, and crisis counseling.
